SM Performance is a Quebec-based motorsport racing team specializing in the G70-G90 series and Courses Vintage Québec (CVQ). Based in St-Rémi, our team represents the perfect blend of family heritage, technical expertise and on-track performance, driven by a clear objective to compete at the highest level of Canadian motorsport.

Founded by Nicolas and Pascal Ste-Marie and supported by a tight-knit group of friends sharing the same passion, SM Performance builds on decades of experience in auto racing and motorsports. Every track appearance is guided by a rigorous approach that combines precision mechanical preparation, performance analysis and optimized race strategy.

A Passion Passed Down Since the 1960s

The story of SM Performance is rooted in a rich family heritage deeply embedded in Quebec motorsports

In the late 1960s, their father, Guy Ste-Marie, made his mark in summer drag racing and winter snowmobile endurance racing. Their mother, Judith Sicotte, also excelled in snowmobile endurance competitions, at a time when both were immersed in the world of legendary racing figures such as the Lemaire, Duhamel and Villeneuve families.

This culture of discipline, performance and pushing limits shaped the family DNA. Today, that tradition continues with a modern vision of motorsport in Quebec, where every detail is optimized to achieve excellence.

The founders have competed in multiple disciplines, including karting, Formula Ford, Formula 2000, and the Procam Super Truck series, developing strong expertise in driving and performance.

At the heart of the team is the race-prepared Ford Mustang, an iconic car since 1964, renowned for its success in GT, Trans-Am, and NASCAR series. It perfectly embodies SM Performance’s core values: power, reliability, and precision.
